How to determine the parting surface of aluminum die casting?

Aluminum die-casting is a common pressure casting part. It is a part made by pouring die-casting machine equipped with casting mold, pouring aluminum and aluminum alloy heated into liquid into the material port, and die-casting by die-casting machine. The die-cast aluminum die-casting parts can be made into various messy shapes, and also have high precision and smoothness. This can not only save electricity and metal materials, but also save poor labor costs. Today we will talk to Jiangmen Foundry about the selection of parting surface of aluminum die-casting parts. The contact surface of the dynamic and setting of the die-casting mold is usually called the parting surface. The parting surface is determined by the parting line of the die-casting part. The joint surface on the direction perpendicular to the clamping force is the basic parting surface. Generally, the die-casting mold has only one parting surface. Sometimes, due to the mess of the casting, there can be more than two auxiliary parting surfaces.
 
According to the shape of the parting surface, the die-casting parting surface can be divided into four types: straight type, skew type, step type and curve type. During this period, the straight parting surface has a simple structure and is easy to manufacture, so it is widely used. For the stepped parting surface, the pouring system is generally set on one stepped surface in between, and the overflow system is set on another stepped surface, which is convenient for filling and exhausting of the molten metal.
 
Confirm that there are many factors to be considered for the parting surface. Therefore, when selecting the parting surface, in addition to the structural characteristics of the aluminum die-casting, combined with the arrangement of the casting system. Many factors such as the processing technology and installation technology of the aluminum die-casting mold and the demolding conditions of the die-casting parts should be considered and confirmed as a whole. The confirmation principle of the parting surface is:
 
1. The casting must be kept in the moving mold when it is opened, and it is easy to take out from the mold cavity.
 
2. The parts with high requirements for different axial degrees and dimensional accuracy should be placed in the same half mold as much as possible.
 
3. The parting surface is generally not set on the surface with high surface quality requirements.
 
4. The setting of the parting surface should be conducive to the establishment of a pouring system and a nourishing system, which is convenient for finishing burrs, gates, etc., and easy for painting.
 
5. The setting of the parting surface should simplify the aluminum die-casting structure as much as possible, and fully consider the casting performance of the alloy.
